Protective frame and skid plates necessary?

I got a 2025 Road Glide and I'm trying to keep this feeling and looking brand new for a long time! Since I'm new to the market, I keep seeing ads and posts for these protective frame plates and skid plates. You know, just how algorithm works and I feel like I'm an easy target. Is this actually a real concern or just a bunch of companies trying to cash in on a new model? It looks like the radiator hoses and some wiring are pretty exposed underneath, but if the protective frame and skid plates were necessary, then they should've come as a factory setup? Anyone here already install one? What's the general consensus on this, is it a must-have for peace of mind or am I overthinking it? I'd appreciate hearing your thoughts and advice!

A skid plate is great for protecting stuff like hoses and wires from junk when you're riding on rough roads or gravel. But if you're mainly on paved roads, you probably don't need one.
